Felony & Misdemeanor Charges

The criminal defense attorneys at Gilroy & Napoli are very experienced handling both felony and misdemeanor criminal charges. Misdemeanors are crimes that are punishable up to one year in prison. Felonies are the most serious of criminal offenses and typically involve serious physical harm to another, but can also include fraud and white collar crimes. Penalties for felonies range from a year in prison to up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The death penalty is also an option in Oregon for the most serious of felony convictions.

In Oregon, for the purposes of sentencing, felonies are categorized as classes. A Class A felony is the most serious felony class, followed by Class B felony, and Class C Felony. The same holds true for misdemeanors where a Class A misdemeanor is more serious than a Class B, and Class misdemeanor.
